Heifer International
Thank you
for you interest in honoring my Dad, Phil, by learning more about
Heifer International and how you can help create sustainable food
supplies for struggling families and communities in America and
around the World.
Phil
Eikenberry was a farmer his entire life. Some of the lessons
I teach my children and my Clients today come directly from what
I learned living and working on the farm. My Dad was an amazing
man. He was my first mentor and believed in the power of helping
people help themselves. Heifer does just that.
Who
is Heifer International?
Heifer
International is a worldwide hunger relief organization whose
mission is to work with communities to end hunger and poverty
and to care for the earth.
Heifer works within
communities to help families create sustainable food supplies
and more. After immediate needs for food, shelter, fresh water,
clothing and other necessities have been met, Heifer works to
empower disaster survivors with the economic means - such as livestock,
training and other resources - to rebuild their families, their
neighborhoods and their hope for sustainable futures.
A Midwestern farmer
named Dan
West was ladling out rations of milk to hungry children during
the Spanish Civil War when it hit him...“These children
don’t need a cup, they need a cow.”
When West returned home
he created "Heifers for Relief" dedicated to ending
hunger permanently by providing families with livestock and training
so they “could be spared the indignity of depending on others
to feed their children.”

How you can help
There are many great
agencies that provide resources and help to those in need. Heifer
takes that idea one step further by providing people with resources
that continue to provide food and fiber, as well as the opportunity
to create an income stream in the future.
Heifer provides milk
- and eggs and meat and hope - to families who really are just
like yours and mine. They want to support their kids; they want
to support their communities; and we can help them do that.
Supporting Heifer International helps
many families transform their lives from poverty to prosperity.
My family can't think of a better way to honor the man who gave
us - and so many others - so much.
