Change is everywhere. . . (not that any of us need to be told that right now!)
There are mergers, reorganizations, product launches, new software to be implemented, quality problems to solve, and a host of other things.
Change is the currency of leaders.
And the reality is, when we introduce change, resistance will surface leading to negativity, complaining, decreased morale and worse. When employees resist change and change initiatives fail, it causes you, your team and the organization big problems.
As a leader, it is your responsibility to tackle the resistance, effectively communicate and champion change—before it’s too late.
And if we want to be successful in transforming this resistance, we must start by thinking about resistance differently.
Resistance is naturally occurring. It shouldn’t surprise or stress you. When you understand the nature of resistance more fully, you will be more confident and less stressed by the resistance you encounter. In fact, you will see it as a natural and even helpful result of change efforts.
