In case you haven’t noticed, the working world is changing.
Specifically, more and more teams are working virtually, and consequently more and more leaders are leading part or all of their teams remotely. This trend isn’t new, but a couple of years ago, I found this topic of “leading my remote team” coming up nearly every time I trained leaders or talked with organizations about their learning needs.
As I continued to notice this trend, I had a conversation with my longtime colleague Wayne Turmel, the founder of GreatWebMeetings.com, and a true master at helping people communicate at distance and use the available technology successfully. After some time, we decided to create The Remote Leadership Institute, which has been helping individual leaders and organizations with a variety of learning services.
This Institute has created some world-class learning experiences and made a difference for a number of organizations. But we knew people wanted and needed more. So we are announcing a new level of commitment to the needs of organizations with far flung teams and the leaders responsible for making it all work.
I’m proud to announce that The Kevin Eikenberry Group has acquired the assets of GreatWebMeetings.com; and most importantly, this is allowing Wayne Turmel to focus entirely on thought leadership and creating learning for remote leaders.
This evolution signals my personal and our team’s commitment to helping all leaders, not just those with a team sitting near them. And it will allow us to further leverage the strengths of Wayne in communicating over distance and using technology with our world-class expertise in helping leaders succeed.
