I’m guessing you have made a to-do list in your life.
If you are like me, you have made thousands.
If you are also like me, there are some days when you feel like the re-writing of the list is a waste of your time – and you think you could be doing an item while you are recopying the list. . .
Most of the productive people I know use some sort of to-do list. But the most productive ones (including me) have three lists – to do, doing and done.
That’s why when I recently discovered Trello, I was impressed and decided to try it.
Trello is a multi-platform (free) tool that helps you create lists to manage your tasks. You can create the lists on the web, on your tablet or on your phone (Android and iPhone). The lists stay synced, and you can move items from to do, to doing and to done on any of your devices.
No more little scraps of paper with reminders or new ideas.
No more rewriting the list every morning.
Trello has it all at your fingertips, all day long.
You can also share boards with others – to give them tasks, to share tasks, and to communicate more clearly. I could give you a full blown run down of the features and benefits, but the site does that well, and I’m not a tech blog. Suffice it to say that after three weeks I am sure I am not yet using all the features I could, but I got started in about five minutes and have used it everyday since.
I have created multiple “boards” (places to keep your lists), I have shared boards (one with one of my team members so far, and one with my wife).
And in the last three weeks I haven’t made a full to do list on paper once. I’m confident that can’t be said of any three week period in my life since high school.
While I haven’t yet maximized this tool, or figured out all the best ways to integrate it into my life, I am confident it is making me more productive, and I believe it can do the same for you and your team.
I’ve also been trying Trello recently. It’s early days, but I’m very impressed. It seems to fit my mindset/approach, which is probably the key factor in finding a tool that works. I’m optimistic that Trello might be the one that ‘sticks’ with me.
Another great tool you can check out is Brightpod( http://brightpod.com ) , a project, task management & collaboration app specifically for marketing teams. It takes the entire campaign planning & collaboration online so you don’t miss anything.
