By Sally Hogshead
In 2010 Sally Hogshead wrote a book called Fascinate: Your 7 Triggers to Persuasion and Captivation. It focused on using her research into what she then called the Fascination Triggers and using them to market products and services. I was a fan of that book, and was one of the first to recommend it. (You can read my recommendation here.)
Fast forward to 2014.
In the past four years, Sally has been refining her research and the assessment tool that goes with it; and with that research and experience comes her new book, How the World Sees You, which takes “the Science of Fascination” to a new level of sophistication and to a different focus – you.
This book is focused on how you can use her 7 advantages (the triggers from the first book, refined and in some cases renamed) to better understand how the world sees you, so you can bring the best of yourself to the world. Here are two sound bites that describe this thesis:
The greatest value you can add is to become more of yourself.
If you don’t know your own value, don’t expect anyone else to.
So this book provides you a tool (the assessment) and a road map (throughout the course of the book’s nearly 450 pages) to help you understand that unique value and to then craft your work and your focus to help you be more successful and fulfilled.
The book has three parts to support these goals:
Part 1 – How Does the World Sees You? Which is context and background for the rest of the book.
Part 2 – The Fascination Advantage System. Which outlines the 7 Advantages and the various archetypes that the combinations of these Advantages creates.
Part 3 – Your Anthem – the Tagline for Your Personality. Which provides you with basic coaching to help you determine how to put this knowledge to work in your life.
With the book also comes access to the Assessment. Without taking it, the book is mostly educational in nature – once you read the book knowing your Advantages and archetype – the book becomes a handbook that delivers on the title’s promise.
The book will officially be released on July 1st.
Why am I recommending it to you early?
Two reasons, and they are both in your best interest.
- This is going to be one of the most talked about personal development books of the year, and I want you to be in front of the curve.
- Because of our relationship with Sally and her team, I have a limited number of free assessments available to my readers. Yep – you don’t even have to buy a book to get this Assessment. (Though after you have your report, I’m confident you will want to read the book!)
To get your free Assessment, go here and use the code KEG. This will give you access to the complete assessment (which normally sells for $37) and your personalized report – as long as you are one of the first 500 to take advantage of this offer.
Yes, I and my team know Sally, and yes, I have been aware of this book’s progress for many months. None of this changes how valuable this book can be to you and your team.
I will have more news soon about how you can take even greater advantage of these tools with your team, but for now, I urge you to take the assessment and pre-order your copy of the book.
