Last week, I shared and wrote about creating a meaningful life. This week, I celebrate the untimely death of a close life long friend, John Allison. He led a meaningful life, and showed many more of us how to do so through his example. In his honor, here is today’s thought for you.

Live each dayQuestions to Ponder

– How often do I think about days as completely as this quotation suggests?

– How might I live today (and tomorrow….) differently if I thought about each day as “a separate life”?

Action Steps

1.  Before you go to bed, think about the day that is passing as a lifetime. Would you be happy with how it was lived?

2.  Take that daily reflection as a call to action to be more complete and intentional with how you spend your next day.

My Thoughts

As I was reminded this week, life is short. And as this quotation hints to us, our lives our made up of our days, one at a time. When we are young, we think of our days as nearly unlimited, and as we age, while the wrinkles, aches, and gray hair might point to the fact that the number of days we have left are finite, we often act as if they weren’t.

When we decide to “count each day as a separate life,” we will start to live more consciously, more intentionally, and more purposefully.

I encourage you to join me in taking this week’s Questions and Action Steps to heart, and allow them to guide your behavior to live each day as completely as fully as you can. . . because we never know how many more of them we will have.
