About a week ago, I wrote a post about the horrific Haitian earthquake, and suggested that it could be a leadership opportunity for all of us. (Check it out!) While it is easy to write a post, once I wrote it I challenged myself to find a way I could offer my leadership to help with these events.
Like many of you I’m sure, my family has pledged financial support.
In challenging myself, here is what I came up with.
I decided my most recent book, #LEADERSHIPtweet – 140 bite-sized ideas to help you become the leader you were born to be, would be my vehicle.
Between now and the end of January, I will donate all the proceeds from my sales of this book to the American Red Cross and their efforts in Haiti.
Wondering about what this book is?
Literally, it is a series of 140 “tweets” ideas and thoughts about leadership that I posted on Twitter. If you aren’t a Twitter person, that is fine – it isn’t about Twitter, it is about leadership. These short thoughts and quotations are compiled in four chapters –
- Leaders as Learners
- Leadership Actions
- Leadership Thoughts
- Leadership Inspiration
Think about it this way, you can read a complete book in several hours, and even if it is a great book, in two weeks how many clear concise ideas will you be able to recite or use from it?
You can read #LEADERSHIPtweet in 45 minutes (or just read one idea day), and I’ll guarantee that at least a couple of the thought you read will stick with you much longer than 2 weeks.
But don’t just take my word for it, Simon of iJumpTVreviewed four books that use Twitter (three in the series #LEADERSHIPtweet is in). Check out his full review, or slide forward to 2:44 to hear what he has to say specifically about me and #LEADERSHIPtweet.
So, now you know about the book, and you know my offer. Order your cop(ies) today – I’ll sign them for you and send all the sales proceeds to help the people of Haiti.
I hope you take me up on my offer – and I look forward to hearing how the book is valuable to you too!
