“You want to take action every day, not sit around waiting for something to happen.”

-Richard Bolles, Author

Questions to Ponder

  • What action have I taken today?
  • What action will I take next?

Action Steps

  1. Get up and get going.
  2. Decide what action will make a difference for you and your future, even if it is a small one.
  3. Take that action.
  4. Rinse and repeat every day.

Kevin’s Thoughts

While these words, written for people looking for a new career or job apply to all of us, as leaders they are especially valuable.

If you want an active and proactive team, take action.

If you want to make progress, take action.

While there is a time to be patient and wait, even that should be done with intention.

  1. I think you’ve hit the nail on the head with your last sentance, Kevin. Whatever you do, be intentional.
What annoys me are the people who do not want to take action. They usually just want to whine. Even for them I would say, be intentional. If your plan is to do nothing, then call it that and be done. Leave the do-ers alone so they can move forward.
    Good post.

  2. I totaly agree Kevin and Marina. I see leadership in the context of personality, either you are forward going as person or you are reactive. And unfortunately to many leaders are reactive and they realy struggle to be intentional and proactive.
