Many people I know have a short stack of books to read, always sitting there at the ready. Well, I have a big stack – and it grows every day.

Understand, I’m not complaining. I feel a sense of abundance when I have books around me, and along with a healthy admiration of Amazon and a love of bookstores (both new and used), I am fortunate that as a blogger and a friend to many authors I receive books in the mail out of the blue (have I told you lately how much I love my work?).

All factors lead to a BIG reading stack.

Rather than recommending one resource today, let me share five books currently on my stack (and generally close to the top). You may or may not read about them in the future in this place – since I don’t review or recommend every book I read. However, if I don’t write about one of these, it doesn’t mean it isn’t good.

So take this for what it is – a glimpse at my summer reading stack.

Well Being: The Five Essential Elements by Tom Rath and Jim Harter. This is gonna be a good one – good topic and authors with a great track record.

Leadership Without Excuses: How to Create Accountability and High Performance by Jeff Grimshaw and Gregg Barton. I don’t know much about this book or the authors, but I love the title!

The Power of Pull: How Small Moves, Smartly Made Can Set Big Things in Motion by John Hagel III, John Seely Brown and Lang Davison. This is one of those bigger picture books, and I think it will be very interesting.

The Element: How Finding Your Passion Changes Everything by Ken Robinson with Lou Aronica. A New York Times Bestseller that was recommended to me a couple months back.

Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us by Daniel Pink. I’ve read excerpts, and Pink is great. I could almost recommend it without reading it . . . but I won’t.
