Normally here, I share one quotation with you followed by questions, action steps and my thoughts. Today, something a bit different. I’ve recently read two ideas about “the good old days,” and rather than picking one, I’m sharing them both. I believe this will give you more to think about and reflect on, as you think about your “good old days.”

Action Steps
1. Reflect on the best times in your life, specifically thinking about why they were the best.
2. Determine what makes the current day great (recognize what you have).
3. Apply the lessons from the past to make your todays your future “good old days.”
My Thoughts
For me, there is so much richness in these two quotations, the challenge is deciding what to share! In the Questions and Action Steps, I focused on reflection and application; both of which I believe our quite powerful in this context. Here, let me add an additional thought. Emerson says we always look back and see the challenges. He doesn’t use the phrase “good old days,” but isn’t it true that with the perspective that he gives, us we find great value even if things were hard?
Maybe you are facing hard times and challenges today. What if you brought the perspective of the future to your mindset today and recognized the greatness and wonder in your present days? If we bring that mindset, looking for (and seeing) the good in today, we will be creating even better memories in the future. When we do that, we can resoundingly agree with Tom Clancy – that the good old days are now.

Well the women were much nicer than today, and both men and women had to Struggle to make ends meat. Many marriages lasted a very long time just like our Parents, Grandparents, Aunts And Uncles did, and many marriages today are ending in Divorce. Much more women today are Very High Maintenance since they’re looking for men with Money, and years ago there wasn’t such a thing as a High Maintenance Woman which explains why there are so many of us Single Men today.
