quotation on work from Dale CarnegieWhen you think of self-help authors in the last 100 years, this author’s name will come to most people’s minds.

His influence went beyond those who read books, and is still being felt today – nearly sixty years after his death.  Admittedly, his ideas have been influential for me – I’ve read nearly all of his books, some of them multiple times.

Perhaps from this quotation we gain an insight into his wide influence – and hopefully you gain deep insights for yourself as well.

Questions to Ponder

– Do I believe in my work?

– What work is most important for me to do today?

– What diverts or keeps me from doing the work that is most important to me and my future?

Action Steps

1. Remind yourself of the importance of your work at the start and at any time you feel diverted or feel like stopping.

2. Recognize the power of momentum, and get going.

3. Read this quotation daily to help you stay focused on your big goals and to keep you focused on doing the work required.

My Thoughts

This quotation, in many ways, says it all.  Know what you want to achieve, realize it will take work and get started.  When people do these things, great achievements occur.  When we do these things, great accomplishments are in our future.  While it is important that we work smart and continue to look for efficiency and best practices, none of that can be an excuse to stop moving forward.

My Dad said it, and likely, so did yours – “a little hard work never hurt anyone”.

That is true.  At least as true is that continuing to work on something important might just lead to amazing results.

You want a key to success?

Work daily towards your goals.
