As an author you go through several stages of the process of writing a book. You determine a book idea, you plan the writing, you do the writing and then, after some quiet time, you get feedback.
Yes, in the case of my newest book, From Bud to Boss – Secrets to a Successful Transition to Remarkable Leadership, I had a co-author. Guy Harris and I gave each other lots of feedback, and we got some feedback from our editors. But still, after that, you wait. . .
That time between writing and getting reviews wasn’t as long as women carry a baby – but it was long enough.
Guy and I were both proud papas when our kids were born. And now we are almost as proud about what some people – our peers, other leadership experts and in-the-trenches leaders – are saying about this project.
