DISC Assessments

The DISC model was developed and adopted by organizations worldwide many years ago. Since the underlying thinking is in the public domain, there are many versions of the assessment. And there are many other assessments that, while branded differently, are essentially a DISC Assessment. Because of this widespread application, it is the most researched and validated of all the communication/behavioral style tools.

All these tools are typically used and taught as a tool for self-awareness, which is powerful and valuable. We believe that the greater power of understanding the DISC Model comes in the understanding and application of the model to improve our ability to communicate with others. In short, here is what I mean:

When we have a way to understand the ways in which others communicate (often different from ourselves), we can use that understanding to diagnose the differences and flex our approach to be a more effective communicator with others. This allows us to meet their needs and improve the chances that our messages are effectively and accurately received by others.
