What if I told you I could give you a tool that would help you understand yourself better? What if I said it could give you a glimpse into some of your strengths and possible blind spots? And what if that same tool could help you communicate better with others? Would you be interested? That tool is the DISC Assessment.
You may have experience with a DISC Assessment, and thus be tempted to close this article. If so, I urge you to read on.
DISC Assessments
The DISC model was developed and adopted by organizations worldwide many years ago. Since the underlying thinking is in the public domain, there are many versions of the assessment. And there are many other assessments that, while branded differently, are essentially a DISC Assessment. Because of this widespread application, it is the most researched and validated of all the communication/behavioral style tools.
All these tools are typically used and taught as a tool for self-awareness, which is powerful and valuable. We believe that the greater power of understanding the DISC Model comes in the understanding and application of the model to improve our ability to communicate with others. In short, here is what I mean:
When we have a way to understand the ways in which others communicate (often different from ourselves), we can use that understanding to diagnose the differences and flex our approach to be a more effective communicator with others. This allows us to meet their needs and improve the chances that our messages are effectively and accurately received by others.
Get Started with DISC
As I have said, there are plenty of DISC Assessments available. But you might not know that we have offered one since 2016. Because we emphasize communication success, our personalized report focuses on how to use your understanding of yourself and the DISC Model to become a more effective communicator.
We offer a quick free assessment, and a more in-depth and accurate assessment for $29 (with discounts for bulk purchases). Both come with a personalized report, but the paid assessment report is far more detailed and specific. You can get started with either one immediately.
We also offer a variety of tools for DISC application and use. Including our very popular and powerful Team Report for both individuals and groups. Details on these additional tools can be found here.
We believe in the power of tools like DISC. If you already use DISC in your organization and are happy with the process and report, we urge you to extend the use beyond self-awareness. If you would like to explore how to use a DISC Assessment for yourself or others, we would love for you to consider ours. And if you would like to talk further about how to use this tool, reach out and someone on our team will help you develop a plan.
