I have been a longtime fan of President Ronald Reagan, and not because of his policies (this isn’t a political conversation). But rather I am a fan because Ronald Reagan was an achiever. He achieved in sports; he achieved in the military; he achieved as an actor. He became a governor and a president of the United States.
President Reagan was an achiever, regardless of what you think about his particular politics.
So because of this, when I had the opportunity to visit his presidential library, I jumped on it. And as I was going through the early parts of the exhibit, I saw a sign that talked about his time as Governor of California, and it showed a sign that he had on his desk. It said: It CAN Be Done.
And then a little later in the tour, you go into a replica of the Oval Office. And on the desk in the Oval Office replica was one of these signs again.
It CAN Be Done.
So at the end of my tour when I saw a replica of this sign in the gift shop, I bought it. And it now sits on my desk.
So what’s the lesson here? Well, the lesson here for us as achievers is to remember that idea: It CAN Be Done.
