I am a big fan of journals. And whether it’s a fancy leather-bound one or a bunch of loose-leaf sheets, a journal can be an extremely powerful tool to help you both personally and professionally.
In today’s video, I’ll give you a few quick ideas for how you can use a learning journal to be a more successful leader and human-being.

I would like to see a episode on communication. It seems that we try extremely hard to communicate within my organization, however, we frequently receive feedback that we are not communicating enough. Nothing specific, just a general statement that staff does not “feel” as though they are getting enough communication.
Is this common amongst organizations? Any tips on how best to create a feeling of communication and inclusion?
Some people would probably prefer if you would give a few examples of “setting up” the note(s) in the journal. Types of items to place in the left column “Idea” section also.
Would you have a visual from a few pages that you put together over the years ?
This is on my list – thanks!
Not sure if my first email went through but would like to see more informational videos on self assessment and how to get a renewed focus to get organized and be more productive.
I’d love one of your journals you mentioned in your video.
Thanks!
I would like to hear your comments on toxic people in the workplace who invalidate others and how to deal with them.
Thanks Vince – it is on my list!
I would like to hear more on how to help others without doing it for them. I enjoy what I do but at times I am taken advantage of and I need to know how to stand my ground in a positive way while not regretting saying no.
I would like to see an episode of Remarkable Leadership that discusses a leader’s responsibility to grow and learn despite the lack of company provided training/education/coaching.
This is what I would like you to do an episode on:
Emotional Intelligence – harnessing it to maximize execution and performance
I truly enjoyed the information on using a learning journal. We are required to take so many hours of training at our agency but I never really know what to do with all the information. Having it all in a learning journal would be not only a good way to manage the information but a great way to read and reinforce the information and share. Thanks for the info. I would love to see information on squelching gossip in the work place if there is such a thing…lol.
Great idea for Remarkable TV episode would be on incorporating not only one’s accomplishments for their performance review but a second column on the result/impact of each accomplishment to be more mindful of the results/impact of one’s accomplishments that can then be translated in one’s resume.
As an avid life long learner, I look forward to obtaining one of your Learning Journals.
i’d like to see an episode for leaders on how to NOT micromanage their people. I’ve had that done to me and it feels terrible. I end up feeling like I don’t know what I’m doing (even though I know I do) or that my superior doesn’t think I know what I’m doing. Too many questions, even when I’ve already answered or done something.

I'd like an episode on how to lead a sustainable team by coaching team members to solve for positive environmental and social impacts (as well as traditional business impacts)
